All hospital trusts are measured on how they perform against key targets – put in place to make sure patients are receiving the best possible care. We are meeting most of these well, with detailed work plans in place for areas where we aren’t doing as well as we would like.
Target | Met |
At least 95% of patients waiting no more than four hours in A&E before admission, transfer or discharge * | ✔ |
Cases of clostridium difficile – we reported 10 against a target of no more than 13 | ✔ |
All cancer waiting targets | ✔ |
At least 90% waiting no more than 18 weeks from referral to admission and treatment ** | ✘ |
At least 95% waiting no more than 18 weeks from referral to treatment (for non-admitted patients) | ✔ |
* Although we met this target for the full year, like many Trusts we didn’t meet this in the last quarter of the year. Improving our emergency care pathway remains a top priority for 2014/15.
** In 2013/14 we undertook a significant improvement programme on planned care, advised by the National Intensive Support Team. During this work we identified a process error which adversely affected our performance for the 18 week standard for admitted patients (88.2% at year end). We have put in place a significant action plan to rectify this for the coming year.
