Our statement regarding the Multi-Disciplinary Foot Care Team
The inclusion of the Trust on the list published by Diabetes UK, of hospitals that do not have a multi-disciplinary foot care team for patients with diabetes, is incorrect.
A multi-disciplinary team does exist and has been in place for over two years, covering both Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals. The team consists of a consultant diabetologist, specialist nurse and specialist podiatrist who work together to help patients with diabetes related foot problems.

- General diabetes clinics supported by Diabetic Specialist Nurse and Dietician (both sites)
- General endocrine clinics (both sites)
- Specialist thyroid / parathyroid clinic (both sites)
- Specialist obesity clinic for medical and surgical treatment of morbid obesity
- Young adult diabetes clinic and dedicated transitional clinic
- Diabetes foot clinic
- Joint renal / diabetic clinic
- One stop thyroid clinic jointly with surgeon
- Diabetic antenatal covering diabetes mellitus and endocrine problems
- Insulin pump clinic
- In-patient diabetes support by diabetes specialist nurses on both sites - supporting healthcare professionals, patients and safe discharge planning
- Multi-disciplinary diabetes foot rounds on Wednesdays mornings
- Community diabetes - clinic at Woking Community Hospital

The outpatient facilities at St. Peter’s Hospital are in the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Centre located at the front of the hospital site. |
