In this section, we shall publish details of awareness events held at the Trust regarding equality and diversity.
Past Events
| June 2010: Safeguarding Adults Week |
During the week (7th to 11th June 2010), the Trust focused on the Safeguarding Adults campaign.
Staff had a short mandatory training followed by a Q&A session. The week rounded off with a series of presentations on the subject.
| May 2010: Disability Awareness Day |
As one of the Equality and Diversity strands and to raise the profile of the Single Equality Scheme for the Trust we invited staff to visit the Disability Awareness displays at the main entrance of both St Peters and Ashford on Wednesday 5th May.
The aim of the day was to raise awareness and the profile of ALL the strands of Disability (visual, speech, hearing, mobility, mental health and learning disabilities)
There was an opportunity for staff to meet and speak with:
- The Trust Disability Champions – Jonathan Fisher and Maria Crosbie
- Information from Guide Dogs
- North West Surrey Coalition for the Disabled
- Surrey Association for Visually Impaired
- And to see and try a talking microwave on loan from Cobalt.
