Along with other NHS Trusts throughout the country, recruitment to midwifery positions remains a challenge. We are particularly pleased with our recent recruitment drive which has resulted in 19 additional midwives, 10 maternity assistants and one nursery nurse joining the maternity department between September and December 2008. The Trust is continuing this campaign, and is taking part in a further recruitment drive to encourage former midwives to return to practice, in partnership with the University of Surrey. |
