Details of the Request
Bed occupancy rate for the period of the financial year April 2007 to March 2008 for the Trust as a whole.
Specifically I would like this to be calculated using the following formulae:
(Inpatient days of care / bed days available) x 100
Please also supply the figures for both of the above measures (ie inpatient days of care and bed days available).
Inpatients days of care (total inpatient bed days or occupied bed days) will be calculated by the sum of each daily census for the 365 days of the year.
Bed days available will be defined as the maximum number of inpatient days of care that would have been provided if all beds were filled during the year. If the number of beds fluctuated throughout the year, bed days available should reflect this.
If this figure differs from any previously calculated or published bed occupancy rate for the same time period, please explain how this figure was calculated and why it differs from the above calculated rate. |
