Details of the Request

The total number of cash machines on each hospital’s premises that are available for use by patients/visitors

The charge levied by each of these cash machines when patients/visitors withdraw money
  The number of withdrawals made at cash machines in each hospital during the last complete financial year (2008-09) or equivalent 12-month reporting period (but not including the current period).

The total revenue obtained by each hospital during the last complete financial year.

Policy documentation detailing the Trust’s policy with regard to this issue.

Details of the Response

Thank you for your request to Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust regarding Cash Machines.


The Trust’s Deputy Director of Finance has responded.
  • Total number of cash machines on each hospital’s premises that are available for use by patients/visitors.

    One machine at St. Peter’s Hospital – not operated by the Trust. None at Ashford Hospital.

     
  • The charge levied by each of these cash machines when patients/visitors withdraw money.

    No charge is levied.

     
  • The number of withdrawals made at cash machines in each hospital during the last complete financial year (2008-09) or equivalent 12-month reporting period (but not including the current period).

    Machines are not operated by the Trust so we have no information on their usage – machines are refilled and maintained by the Royal Bank of Scotland;

     
  • The total revenue obtained by each hospital during the last complete financial year from the operation of charging cash machines which are available for use by the public/patients.

    None.

     
  • Policy documentation detailing the Trust’s policy with regard to this issue.
