- What was the average, shortest and longest waiting time for patients to be seen by an Infection Control Nurse following receipt of a referral?
Infection Control Nurses do not take receipt of referrals like other specialist nurses or see patients in clinics. However, if a patient or family request to see an Infection Control Nurse we respond that day. Any patient who has an MRSA bacteraemia or C diff is seen within 24 hours by the Infection Control Nurses. Our workload is generated by the specimens sent and organisms isolated.
