Details of the Response
Thank you for your request to Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust regarding transportation and disposal of health care waste – pharmaceutical, sharps, cyctotoxic and cytostatic, anatomical and general clinical waste.
The most recent contract of Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust which covered collection, transportation and disposal of health care waste – pharmaceutical, sharps, cyctotoxic and cytostatic, anatomical and general clinical waste was a three year contract begun in 2005 with the option of two twelve month extensions, which were taken up.
The existing contract has been continued whilst the tendering procedure is followed, pending the award of a contract once the selection has been made. As the tendering process is not yet concluded, the Trust may not presently provide information relating to its requirements for the waste management contract, such as the contract value and tonnages of component waste steams, because to do so might prejudice the tendering process and the commercial interests of the Trust of those of suppliers tendering.
We are therefore applying exemption S43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. |
