How much did the Trust spend on communications and marketing (including advertising and PR), including all staff costs, in the following years:
  • 2007-08
  • 2008/09
  • 2009/10.

Of this figure, how much did the Trust spend in 2009-10 on the following:
  • media and communications staff - please list how many staff were employed, what their job titles were and their salaries
  • printing
  • design - other than rebranding
  • rebranding
  • advertising
  • website
  • PR agency
  • media legal advice (e.g. defamation proceedings)
  • media training/consultancy

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding spending on Communications and PR.


You requested information about the amount of money spent by Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust on communications and PR in each financial year since 2007/8. Please note that this information has been sourced from the Communications Department, which does not have a specific budget for marketing.
  1. How much did the Trust spend on communications and marketing (including advertising and PR), including all staff costs, in the following years:

    1. 2007-08: £117,653
    2. 2008-09: £159,257
    3. 2009-10: £198,946

       
     
  2. Of this figure, how much did the Trust spend in 2009-10 on the following:

    1. media and communications staff: £167,756 spent on six staff, namely Head of Communications; Communications Officer; Press Officer; Medical Photographer, Communications Assistant and Patient Information Officer.
    2. printing: £18,126
    3. design - other than rebranding: costs included in printing budget line, as above.
    4. rebranding: Information not held.
    5. advertising: None
    6. website: Funded by ICT department.
    7. pr agency: None
    8. media legal advice (e.g. defamation proceedings)? None

  4. I realise that this may not fall into the marketing and comms budget, but please could you confirm how much the Trust spent on purchasing television screens in 2009-10?

    The Trust purchased 6 televisions during 2009-10 - total cost £1724.00.
