Details of the Request
How many staff were on duty on the nightshift of Saturday 3rd July 2010 and Wednesday 7th July 2010 in your A&E unit and what were their roles, i.e. doctor, nurse etc?
On those nights how many of the staff on duty were agency staff?
What was the clinical staff status on duty for each of those nights? i.e. Consultant, Registrar, junior doctors etc. |

Thank you for your request to Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust regarding staff on duty on the nightshift of Saturday 3rd July 2010 and Wednesday 7th July 2010 in the A&E unit.
The Trust’s General Manager of Emergency Services has responded as follows:
Saturday 3rd July
1 Consultant on-call overnight
7 trained nurses – all night
- 1 sister (A&E)
- 3 nurses (A&E)
- 3 nurses (bank/agency)
+ 1 Health Care Assistant – all night
+ 1 trained nurse (A&E) – twilight shift, until 1am
