Details of the Response
Thank you for your request to Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust regarding how much taxi companies pay to operate on Trust sites for the purpose of transporting patients and visitors.
The Trust’s Head of Facilities has responded as follows:
The Trust has a contract with a company called Infopoint to provide 7 Infopoint telephone units (3 at the Ashford site and 4 at the St Peter’s site). Each unit has a number of buttons advertising a particular service, and when a user presses the appropriate button they are connected to the advertised service via the means of a free of charge telephone call.
The contract is a 3 year contract and the Trust receives a payment of £200 per annum per unit, which is basically a fee for rental of space. The Trust does not receive any commission or revenue generated by the Infopoint units.
Infopoint have sole ownership of the units and are solely responsible for all maintenance, recurring charges, revenue generation etc.
Therefore, for more clarification on these services you will need to make a FOI request to Infopoint as the Trust does not have access to such information.
