Details of the Request
- How much did your hospital trust spend on (a) agency nursing care and (b) agency Doctors in the 2010/11 financial year?
- On how many occasions was more than £1,500 paid for a single shift for an agency doctor and what were the sums paid? For each payment state the grading and specialism of the doctor and the number of hours they were contracted for.
- On how many occasions was more than £1,500 paid for a single shift for an agency nurse and what were the sums paid? For each payment state the grading and specialism of the nurse and the number of hours they were contracted for.

- 2010/11 expenditure as follows: -
- Agency nursing £ 975,582
- Agency medical £3,455,444
- We can confirm that Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust holds information falling within the description specified in this part of your request. However, we estimate that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit of £450. The appropriate limit has been specified in regulations and for public authorities outside central Government it is set at £450. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending 3½ working days in determining whether the Trust holds the information, and locating, retrieving and extracting the information. Under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is not obliged to comply with your request and we will not be processing this part of your request further.
