Dr Tim Welman, a First Year Doctor in Colorectal Surgery was congratulated and presented with a bottle of wine by Dr Clive Grundy for answering his bleeper in 2 seconds.

Second place was won by Madeleine Andersson, a Year 2 Doctor in Medicine with 3 seconds and third place by Christiana Page, a first year doctor in Colorectal Surgery with 5 seconds.

The Bleeper Cup, which takes place every six months is open to all First Year, Year 2 doctors and Registrars.

Digital step forward for maternity services

There are some exciting developments afoot in maternity services at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals with the launch of a new electronic medical record system known as BadgerNet. This will replace the traditional folder of handheld notes used by pregnant women and mean everything is securely stored electronically and available at the touch of a button.

Planning Application Submitted

Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Optivo have submitted a planning application to Runnymede Borough Council for the redevelopment of surplus land at St Peter’s Healthcare campus in Chertsey, Surrey.
