Lauren Brown with Claire, Tom, and Billy

The 2000th baby was born in the Abbey Birth Centre at St. Peter’s Hospital on Monday 30th October. Billy Stephen Roberts arrived at 12.51, weighing 6lb 7oz.

Proud Mum and Dad – Claire and Tom Roberts, from Lower Sunbury were delighted to welcome their first born into the world. To recognise the arrival of Billy – the 2000th baby born in the Abbey Birth Centre since it opened in 2014 - the maternity team presented the family with a specially embroidered cuddle blanket, along with a pampering gift set for Claire.

Tom and Claire said: “We would like to thank all of the staff here in the Abbey Birth Centre for looking after us so well, particularly our Midwife Lauren Brown who was with us for the birth. They have been amazing so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

The Abbey Birth Centre is a midwife-led facility located close to other maternity services at St. Peter’s Hospital. It offers women with uncomplicated pregnancies the opportunity for a natural birth in a lovely, home-from-home, setting. Four, large, en-suite birthing rooms are available, all with a double bed and three with a birthing pool, along with extra touches to create a calming environment, such as special lighting and iPod docking stations. More information can be found on the Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals maternity website - www.asph-maternity.org.
