The pain management service at Ashford and St Peter’s hospital Trust provides a service which is:

  • Adequate consultation time
  • Access to diagnostic and imaging services
  • Links to other health care professionals where required
  • Education about condition
  • Choices regarding management
  • Written patient information on procedures, conditions and other therapies
  • Links to other sources of information

Evidence-based
  • Multi modal therapy
  • Pharmacological therapies and rationalisation of medications
  • Interventionist treatments including spinal injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency denervation, muscle trigger point injections and Botox

Multidisciplinary team input

Assessment and treatment by other members of the multidisciplinary team:
  • Medical consultants
  • Nurses
  • Clinical psychologist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Occupational therapist
