Blood Tests
A phlebotomy (blood test) service is provided on the Ashford and St. Peter’s sites.

On occasion it is necessary to close the department prior to 16.45 when patient volume will not allow samples to be taken before 5pm.

INR blood tests for Anticoagulation patients will not be taken on Fridays, weekends and bank holidays.
INR Services
The following phlebotomy clinics are offered in support of INR services ONLY. Appointment times are given to patients to reduce queuing.

Endoscopy
The Endoscopy Unit is a dedicated unit that comprises of 9 Trolley spaces and a Reception area. The unit has a recovery area and two procedure rooms.
The Unit performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Oesophageal-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD), Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy and Endoscopic-Retrograde-Cholangio-Pancreatograph (ERCP), is carried out in the X-Ray Department.
The Ward is open from 8.00am to 18.00 Monday to Friday. Patients arrive at 8.00am for the morning list and 12.45pm for the afternoon list.

Radiology Services
Ashford and St. Peter’s Directorate of Clinical Radiology comprises approximately 110 staff members, including a wide variety of Healthcare Professionals and business staff. i.e. Radiologists, Radiographers, Nurses, Radiography Assistants, Medical Secretaries and Clerical Assistants supporting an activity of 150,000 patient examinations a year.
