Congratulations to Ms Shelagh Gregson, who recently became the 6000th public member of Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Trust Chairman Aileen McLeish presented Ms Gregson from Addlestone with a plant to recognise this landmark in the Trust’s recruitment of members. Said Ms Gregson, “I was surprised and delighted to learn that I was the 6000th member, and I really enjoyed meeting the Trust’s Chairman. I am very keen to get involved in membership issues and special events, and in finding out more about how the Trust works.” Chairman Aileen McLeish said: “I would like to encourage anyone who lives locally to consider membership of the Trust, which gives people a real opportunity to help shape the future of our hospitals. Through our regular special events, members can find out more about health issues and how we care for people with a variety of conditions. We now have around 9,000 public and staff members, which means we are in contact with many local people who are interested in and supportive of our hospitals.” Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals became an NHS Foundation Trust on 1 December 2010.
