Staff at Ashford & St. Peter's hospitals have taken part in specific training to deal with any potential Ebola cases in our hospitals.

Although it is highly unlikely there will be any cases in our hospitals it is also essential that we are fully prepared. Training was carried out by Public Health England and included background to the disease, information on how it is transmitted and guidance on how to recognise symptoms and manage any potential cases to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

This was followed up with an exercise at St. Peter's Hospital where a range of staff including ambulance crews, A&E nurses and consultants came together to walk-through a mock scenario to ensure they are fully prepared should the need arise.
