At the awards ceremony

The Trust received over 600 nominations by our patients and colleagues, highlighting our staff achievements over the past year, which were celebrated at our 2016 Staff Achievement Awards.

Chief Executive, Suzanne Rankin commented: “This is an amazing celebration of the fantastic contribution, that so many of our colleagues have made to ensuring, as an organisation, we are amongst the top performers in the country but not only that, our patients are telling us that we deliver great care.

“What more could you ask for? It’s my favourite afternoon of the working year, everyone is a star in their own unique way and I feel very privileged to be part of Team ASPH.”

Out of the nine awards presented, Dr Peter Wilkinson, Cardiology Consultant and Divisional Director for Medicine and Emergency Services (pictured opposite), was the second recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in honour of his dedication and compassion with nearly 35 years’ service to the Trust.

Peter said after the ceremony: “It is an absolute joy to receive the Chairman’s Award and to see people applauding me - it was very strange I felt like I was an actor on the stage. To deliver care effectively when looking after patients your really have to work as a team rather than individuals. So really a huge thank you to all those incredible colleagues and teams I have worked with over the years at Ashford and St Peter’s.”
