The Trust is embarking on a large scale transformation of outpatient services in order to improve upon the quality of outpatient care.

National figures show a significant growth in the demand on these services, with outpatient attendances rising by 20% over the last five years. At ASPH, the volume of outpatient attendances is rising by 7% per year and we want to ensure that we are providing care to these patients in the best possible way.

The main objectives for ASPH are to optimise the quality of outpatient care by improving access and choice, adopting innovative models of care and utilising available technology to provide alternatives to face-to-face, hospital based appointments. We want to empower patients to be more involved in their outpatient care and to minimise disruption to their lives.
