Since launching our new recognition scheme last November we’ve had some very worthy winners and nominations.
Team ASPH are embracing the scheme and it’s fantastic to receive so many nominations each month, not only from colleagues wishing to recognise their peers, but also from patients, keen to share how their experience has been improved by an individual or team.
The March winner was Lindsay Ball, Senior Healthcare Assistant, who was nominated by the family of a patient who praised her sensitivity to the needs of patients, and her thoughtful and caring attitude.
For the first time in April, the winners were a team as opposed to an individual. The Paediatric Play Team, Moira Irving, Claire Power and Eileen Jennings were nominated by a colleague who noted the huge positive impact and support they provide for the children who stay on Ash and Oak Wards, particularly those with special needs.
The May winner was Linda Turner who is the Ward PA on Dickens Ward at Ashford. Linda was nominated by colleagues who referenced her friendly, approachable manner and dedication, often taking on additional responsibilities without being asked.
The June winner was Terryl Fegarido, a Charge Nurse in the Haematology Day Unit. Terryl was nominated by several colleagues who nominated him for going above and beyond for patients, and for his kindness and thoughtfulness caring for members of the team, ensuring that everyone has eaten and stays hydrated during their shift.
The July winner was Chloe Doherr, a Student Nurse on Ash Ward, who was nominated by the parent of a paediatric patient. Chloe was nominated for her caring and compassionate manner, and the excellent way in which she communicated with the young patient in addition to the support she offered the parent too.
