Interim Chief Executive

 

We are delighted to announce that following a thorough and competitive recruitment process, Katie Fisher has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals and is due to join the Trust on 7 May 2024.

Katie is an experienced Chief Executive with 20 years Board level experience in the NHS, charity, and private sectors. Her most recent Chief Executive roles have been at St. Andrew's Healthcare, a large specialist mental health charity, and before that, at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Katie started her career as a registered nurse and was also a graduate of the NHS general management training scheme. She has held a variety of senior roles in both commissioning and provider organisations, across primary, secondary, tertiary, community, mental health and learning disability care.

Caroline Warner, Chair at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, says, “The Board and I look forward to welcoming Katie to Ashford and St Peter’s and to begin working together. Katie’s substantial experience and healthcare leadership expertise will be invaluable to the Trust and will help to support the delivery of our vision to provide an outstanding experience and best outcomes for patients and the team.”

On starting her new role at Ashford and St Peter’s Katie says, “I am thrilled to have been offered the role as Interim Chief Executive of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and am looking forward to meeting our fantastic staff and working with them, the Board, governors and partners to expand the great work already underway to deliver excellent care to our patients and community.”

Former Chief Executive, Julie Smith left the Trust in March. Simon Marshall will continue as Acting Accounting Officer until Katie joins the Trust.
