Painted hands

Following reports in the local media, we want to update patients and their families with the latest information on our ADHD service.

We have been working with local commissioners, North West Surrey and Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Groups (who are responsible for commissioning local health services), on the best way to provide ADHD follow-up services to children and their families. While we are very proud of the service we have been running, we recognise that we need to work alongside our commissioners to ensure the most appropriate and sustainable service is available for children and families moving forward.

The CCGs are currently working to recommission the service available at Ashford and St Peter’s from the beginning of October with a new provider; in the meantime, our clinics will continue to run as they currently do until the end of September. We are working closely with the CCGs to ensure all children and their families receive a smooth handover when the service moves and to make sure patients continue to access the care, advice and medication they require. To avoid confusion, the ADHD service commissioned by the CCG and provided by Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust will continue and is unaffected by this change.

For patients living outside the North West Surrey and Surrey Downs areas – we have also been working with other nearby CCGs so they are aware of the current situation and will be able to advise patients accordingly.

We will shortly be writing to all patients within the service with further information.

Thank you, the Paediatric Team
