NHS 111

Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals are currently seeing a very high number of people in our Emergency Department (ED) seeking urgent care. Our dedicated teams are working hard to assess and treat patients as quickly and effectively as possible to reduce delays, prioritising our most unwell patients first.

If you or a loved one becomes unwell, it’s important to choose the right service. Unless it’s a life-threatening or severe illness or injury, we urge you to contact your GP, attend your local pharmacy, Urgent Treatment Centre, or contact NHS 111 for advice and care. Using the most appropriate option can help you be seen more quickly and ensures others get the care they need during this busy time. Find out more about what services are available.

Our ED is caring for patients with respiratory symptoms. To help reduce the spread of winter illnesses, we ask all staff, patients, and visitors to wear a fluid-resistant surgical mask when in this area of the hospital. Masks are available at all ED entry points - please wear them correctly, covering your mouth and nose at all times. If you are unable to wear a mask, please inform a member of staff.

Visiting your loved ones

When visiting loved ones in our hospitals, please clean your hands when entering and leaving. If you have symptoms of a cough, cold, sickness, diarrhoea, or feel unwell, please do not visit.
