On Wednesday 25 September, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) held their annual Staff Achievement Awards at the Cobham Hilton to celebrate and recognise the exceptional contributions and dedication of colleagues who have gone above and beyond.
We are expecting our services at Ashford and St Peter’s hospitals to be significantly affected for 72 hours next week, when junior doctors and consultants will take industrial action from 07:00 on Monday 2 October until 07:00 on Thursday 5 October.
The Cardiology department at St Peter’s Hospital has received a fantastic donation! HeartBeat Support Woking has generously donated funds to purchase a much-needed bladder scanner which will aid the staff working in the department to monitor bladder function in cardiac patients. This is particularly important when using strong diuretics (water tablets) to treat heart failure.
Services at Ashford and St Peter’s hospital will be significantly affected when consultants take 48-hour industrial action from 7am on Tuesday 19 September until 7am on Thursday 21 September. Junior doctors will take industrial action from 7am Wednesday 20 September until 7am on Saturday 23 September.
Emily (Speech and Language Therapist) contacted the wonderful PAT (Pets as Therapy) charity with the hope of finding a dog that would be suitable to provide some pet therapy to the stroke patients on Aspen ward.
Following a successful community open day at St Peter’s Hospital in July, the Trust will be opening the doors of Ashford Hospital to the public on Saturday 25 November, 10am-3pm. This will be a first for Ashford Hospital and a great opportunity for the public to see what goes on and the different services that are available there.
