There is currently significant estates work being progressed across the St Peter's Hospital site. These works form part of a long term transformation programme, and whilst short term disruption is inevitable, the prize is a transformed, modern, fit-for-purpose hospital infrastructure, able to deliver the highest quality, modern healthcare.
As part of the programme, there have been a number of parking changes at St Peter's Hospital, with the main outpatient car park closing to allow for work to begin on a new, multi deck car park. The number of visitor spaces remains approximately the same, but these are located in different places. The A&E car park is now reserved for blue badge holders only, and the Hazel car park has been converted for visitor parking. The estates and car parking teams have been present around the site to direct people to the new parking areas, helping them find spaces, and their way into the hospital. For further information and maps detailing the new parking locations at St Peter's, please see here.
There were also changes to staff parking, with the number of allocated parking spaces being reduced and priority given to clinical colleagues. Remote working has been encouraged for those colleagues whom this is feasible for. Whilst this is a challenging time, in the long term this will be a great asset to the Trust and will improve parking arrangements for visitors and staff.
There have also been changes at Ashford and following the land sale, substantial work is taking place including a new day nursery. This is now complete and we'll be holding an official opening event shortly. We have also resurfaced and re-lined the main hospital car park.
