Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is currently under severe pressure and we are asking people not to come to A&E unless they are a real emergency. Non-emergency patients are likely to have an extremely long wait and will be taking staff away from caring for patients who need emergency or life-saving care.
Because of the severe pressure we are under, which includes severe pressure on beds, we are cancelling the majority of outpatient appointments on Monday 5th January). Patients can call 01784 884584 from 6.30 am on Monday 5th January to find out if their outpatient appointment is cancelled.
We are also planning to cancel a number of planned operations but will call patients directly if this is to be the case. The number above is for outpatient appointments only.
Please bear with us during this time of unprecedented demand and help us prioritise our most urgent patients.
We stress that people should only visit A&E if they are seriously ill or if it is an emergency and that in A&E patients with the most urgent and life threatening conditions will always be seen first. You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation. Please help us to get this message out to your friends and family as many conditions can be dealt with by calling 111, or visiting a local pharmacy, GP or Walk-in Centre. Thank you for your help with this.
