Clinical Teaching Fellows in Emergency Medicine

This advert is for two identical exciting posts, both with dual responsibilities around undergraduate teaching as well as delivering effective care as a Clinical Fellow within St Peter’s Emergency Department.

It is twelve month fixed term contract that is aimed at doctors with clinical experience within Emergency Medicine and a keen interest in teaching medical undergraduates. Ashford and St Peter’s have strong links with two London Medical Schools; Imperial College and St George’s and have gained an impressive reputation as a centre of excellence for student experience. As a key member of the undergraduate teaching faculty you will be innovative in the design and delivery of teaching programmes, create a library of teaching materials and resources and contribute to the assessment and feedback of students’ abilities.

Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine

The post-holder would be welcomed into a large middle grade team of 18 Emergency Medicine medics, delivering 24/7 care to patients in North West Surrey. All medical staff will be supporting effective patient centred care, however, 10% of the post’s time will be spent involved in one’s own development or wider service improvement activities; this could include, clinical pathway development, clinical audits, training and education, as well as estate changes.

We are looking for someone to join an engaged, high energy team and add their own unique value to the already diverse team. 90% of the post if clinical, spent working amongst their middle grade colleagues, under the oversight of the EM Consultant Team and supporting the Foundation Year Two trainees. The post offers weekly protected department teaching and benefits from education supervision from an EM consultant.

Staff Nurse - Band 5

At St Peter’s we have a dedicated Paediatric Emergency department which is situated alongside the general A&E Department. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have Clinical Practice Educators who will provide support throughout your induction and preceptorship programme. We aim for our new team members to develop within the team, take active roles in the department and be able to learn new skills in order to provide excellent care to all patients and families.
