Our colorectal service is provided by a dedicated team of consultants, senior doctors, specialist nurses, therapists and administration staff.
Our aim is to provide the highest possible quality of care for the local population and patients travelling out of area to access our specialist services. As part of the general surgery department the colorectal service provides care for planned and unplanned hospital care. We provide a broad range of services including:

A colorectal multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meeting runs weekly to discuss patients with complex, non-cancer related disease.
The Colorectal cancer services are part of the Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire (SWSH) Cancer Network. The multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meet weekly to discuss all patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. St Luke's Cancer Centre, Guildford is the regional cancer centre and from where our oncologists are based.

Our Clinical Team
The clinical team in the department are listed below. They offer the following specialist treatments:
- Laparoscopic and open Colorectal surgery,
- Pelvic floor surgery/anorectal physiology and Endoanal ultrasound for prolapse and faecal incontinence,
- Inflammatory bowel surgery including Ileo-anal pouch,
- Laparoscopic and open repairs for abdominal wall hernia,
- Colonoscopy
- Pilonoidal sinus surgery,
- Surgery of malignant melanoma and sarcoma,
- Irritable groin surgery
- Perineal surgery including haemorrhoids, fistulae (simple and complex) and other perianal conditions;
- On-call surgery including laparoscopic cholecystectomy
