We’re making transformational changes to urgent care services and recently shared an update about our brand-new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre. You can read about this here.
This week, the Clinical Assessment Unit (CAU) will move to the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre and will be open to patients at 8am on Friday 27th August.
The CAU is a rapid patient assessment and treatment unit for a range of specialities including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Medicine, Surgery, and Gynaecology. The CAU will be moving to the first floor of the new centre and will offer additional space and access to brand-new and updated clinical equipment.
There will be no change to how you access the CAU as a patient, you will just be seen in a different location and you will be directed by one of the emergency care team on site.
The new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre has been designed by our clinical teams, patients, and healthcare partners to provide an enhanced, fit for purpose department that ensures patients are treated in the right place, at the right time. The final move will be the Urgent Treatment Centre, due to take place over the coming weeks, which we will keep you all updated with.
We are looking forward to sharing these urgent care service improvements with patients and our local community.
