Monday 19 September
It has been confirmed that the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday 19 September at 11am. This day will also be a national public bank holiday.
We are working through any changes needed to support staff to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
We would like to reassure patients that if your appointment is affected by this, you will be contacted by telephone call or text message. If you do not hear from us, please continue to attend your appointment as planned.
Please note that there is likely to be travel disruption if you are travelling to Ashford Hospital on Monday due to temporary road closures as the funeral cortege travels from Westminster Abbey to Windsor.
The A30 is due to be closed (from 11am to approx. 3:15pm) from the Crooked Billet roundabout to the Runnymede roundabout (including London Road, the M25 junction 13 roundabout and along the road parallel to the motorway to The Glanty).
If you have an appointment at Ashford Hospital on Monday, and normally travel via the A30, you will need to take a different route via Stanwell Moor and junction 14 of the M25. The route will be signposted for residents and patients. Please bring your appointment letter or text message reminder on your phone as you may be asked to show it before entering the hospital.
Please check the Surrey County Council website for the latest updates before you travel and allow extra time for your journey.
Visiting patients
There are no restrictions on visiting patients at this time, but if visiting Ashford, please note the road closure and alternative route detailed above.
Urgent and Emergency Care
Our Urgent and Emergency Department at St Peter’s Hospital will continue to run as usual (24 hours).
