Congratulations and thank you to our 14 runners who completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, 7th April 2024. We are so incredibly proud of you and thank you to Nuno Pina for arranging.
18,866 people took part in yesterday's event, starting at Nelson’s Column and finishing at Downing Street and running the 13.1 mile route past London landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul's, the Cheesegrater, the Bank of England and the Scalpel.
Congratulations and thank you to Cassie Gibson (pictured below) who completed the Hampton Court Half Marathon in March for our ICU and her Dad was there supporting her all the way! In her own words:
“After seven long weeks in hospital Dad made it home where he has continued to make huge progress. The brain damage we were warned about was confirmed by an MRI however, after 12 weeks there is very little sign of it, even to the people who know him well. Physically he is getting back to normal too, walking every day and improving his fitness, strength and balance. The physios and occupational therapists have been quite astonished by his recovery. As a family we are continuing to raise awareness for the fundraising page and the amazing team in the ICU - without them our lives wouldn’t be the same!”
She has raised a huge £2,820 for the department. Thank you!
