He also met with Lead Dexa Radiographer, Marie Richards and a patient due to have a bone density (DEXA) scan to learn more about the benefits of having a local site providing this service and experience of using the site.

The Woking CDC is a key development for Woking Community Hospital and North West Surrey. It will offer additional capacity for diagnostic testing such as x-rays ultrasounds, cardiac and respiratory testing, and will help to reduce waiting times for patients.

Stephen Hepworth said: “We were delighted to welcome the Prime Minister to Woking Community Hospital and showcase our plans for the Centre and the benefits it will bring to the local community by providing services closer to home. Once fully operational, we expect the Centre to see over 100,000 people a year.”

It is being developed by Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working in close collaboration with CSH Surrey, primary care, Alliance Medical Ltd and partners operating out of Woking Community Hospital.

It is also being supported by Rotary Clubs of Woking, League of Friends of Woking Community Hospital and Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals Charity.
