The Medical Examiners Team is celebrating winning an Achievement Award from the Royal College of Pathologists.

The awards celebrate excellence in pathology practice and promote high standards in pathology education, training and research to deliver the best patient care.

Clare Walker and Sangeetha Nair were invited to the college’s annual dinner last week to accept the award and the team was recognised for their ‘outstanding community engagement events’.

The college also praised the team for being a ‘dynamic, outward looking department’ and recognised them for their ‘strong working relationships with stakeholders’

Tanaya Sarkhel, Lead Medical Examiner, said: “I value this amazing team enormously. They surprise me every day with their passion for their roles, their creativity, and their innovation. This Award from the Royal College of Pathologists brings national validation to their hard work and their imaginative thinking has been noticed and appreciated. It also encourages us all in the team and gives us the impetus to continue to drive change with new projects and engagements.”

David Fluck, Medical Director, added: “This is fantastic recognition of a team that works hard and consistently goes the extra mile. The work the team has carried out in the community with our stakeholders means that the Trust is now meeting new statutory guidelines for this service, long before the deadline in September.”
