On Friday 5 July the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals Charity hosted it’s NHS Big Tea event to mark 76 years of the NHS, whilst raising funds to improve patient experience and staff wellbeing at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The NHS Big Tea is a nationwide event which takes place each year to celebrate the birthday of the NHS. The national celebration was set up by NHS Charities Together and is now in its seventh year. It provides an opportunity for the community to give back to their local health service and say thank you to the staff who go the extra mile for patients, families and their colleagues.
The event held by the ASPH Charity took place in the Eternal Garden at St Peter’s Hospital and was well attended by staff, patients and members of the public.
Moya Ross, Charity Coordinator, said: “We are ever so grateful for the kindness and generosity we received from those who attended the event. We’ve raised over £300 which will go towards making a difference to patient experience and staff wellbeing at the Trust. A huge thank you to our local community and our supporters – our work is made possible because of you!”
