Last month, we held our annual Pride in Nursing and Midwifery event on 9 May, to mark International Day of the Midwife (5 May) and International Nurses Day (12 May).
The day was split into two parts with presentations in the morning from some of the trust’s internationally educated nurses and midwives, who shared their inspiring journeys which led them to where they are now.

The morning also included an insightful talk from Joanne Bosanquet, Chief Executive at the Foundation of Nursing Studies, as well as from ASPH Chief Nursing Officer, Jay Dungeni and Group Chief Executive, Louise Stead.

During the afternoon, executive and divisional teams visited nursing and midwifery teams across the services run by the trust to thank them for the care they provide for patients every day. Whilst visiting the different wards and departments, awards were presented to staff who were nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond in their role.
