The British Medical Associated (BMA) has announced that industrial action by resident doctors is planned to take place between 7am on Friday 25 July to 7am Wednesday 30 July.
The industrial action will impact some of our services and may mean that your planned care - appointments, procedures, and operations - are postponed in order that we provide emergency care for those who need it. We would like to apologise for the disruption and thank you for your understanding.
If you are concerned and would like to speak with someone about your care, please contact your clinical team using the contact information on your appointment letter. Alternatively, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by calling 01932 723553 or by emailing
Appointments
If you have an appointment scheduled and have not been contacted by our team it is important that you still attend. If you have a query, please contact the number given on your appointment / cancellation letter. You can also receive updates about your appointments using the MyCare patient information portal.
You will be contacted if we need to reschedule your appointment or planned care. We appreciate this can be a distressing time and we will do everything we can to rebook your surgery or treatment as soon as possible.
Patient Transport
If your appointment / procedure is re-arranged (and you have requested transport to and from your appointment) please ensure you cancel this in advance by calling 0300 123 9840.
Accessing urgent and emergency care during industrial action
Please be aware that NHS services will be busier than normal, so we ask that you be patient and kind to all members of staff, especially our frontline healthcare workers and colleagues who are working hard to ensure the safety and welfare of our patients and teams.
It is also important that you only visit our Emergency Department (A&E) at St Peter’s Hospital if you need emergency care or have a life-threatening illness or injury. If you have an emergency, you should continue to call 999.
If you need medical care and you’re not sure where to go, please visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111. NHS111 will be able to direct you to the right place for the right level of care you need. You may be directed to one of these services in North West Surrey:
