Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) are working with Deep Medical Ltd, a healthcare partner, to improve our outpatient services.
Deep Medical's technology aims to reduce the number of patients who do not attend their appointments through tailored messaging and reminders and are also supporting teams to fill clinic slots that have been cancelled at short notice. This technology will help to ensure that as many appointment slots are filled, improving our efficiency and reducing waiting times for patients. The pilot is planned to run in selected clinics, it is not available to all patients at this time. During this pilot, a number of patients may be contacted by Deep Medical, operating on behalf of ASPH, to offer an earlier appointment slot. Please be assured that the relevant data security is in place. Deep Medical Ltd are part of a pilot programme supported by NHS England to improve patient access and experience.
Kevin Percival, Chief Nursing Information Officer at ASPH said: "I’m really pleased to be working with Deep Medical Ltd to use their cutting edge technology to support our outpatient services. ASPH carry out around half a million outpatient appointments a year, but a number of these go unfilled for a number of reasons, particularly those appointments cancelled with short notice. Deep Medical's technology will support our teams to use our appointments more effectively by identifying patients who are available at short notice to fill these slots. If the pilot is successful, we anticipate improved productivity and a reduction in waiting times."
